Wellington East Girls College

Wellington East Girls' College is a girls' secondary school which sits directly above Mount Victoria tunnel in Wellington, New Zealand. Serving years 9 to 13, the school currently has 1113 students.
The building has the original 1920's frontage which was retained in the construction and the new multi level was built behind this. The designers wanted something that was going to be able to hide a multitude of sins and yet be timeless. A good 'green story' was necessary for the school which is why Tredsafe products were selected as they are long lasting and come from a CEMARS certified company.
Tredsafe's stair nosings feature throughout the building, providing safe access ways for students
Using an AA345 profile, two 13mm strips of Neutral Black insert have been used with 1 x 13mm Lumitred insert. The three strip insert profile transforms the staircase into a sleek and tidy access way with anti-slip properties. The Lumitred provides helpful way finding in reduced light conditions too.
